Been to a pretty funky film premiere in Essen this weekend. celeb partys aint even that bad, even though the hos is rented (and that doesnt include extra services, as i learned).

German rap video makers Los Banditos presented their big screen debut Kopf Oder Zahl, which features nearly every mean ass actor we got. Guess with the other star guests, it added up to a hundres years of prison or something..  I did some interviews on the red carpet before and went to the afterparty. Great fun with “models”, ex-porn stars (Gina Wild, who know wants to be called by here “real” name, as I learned..), pimps like Düsseldorfs Bertie or the man formerly known as Neger Kalle, rappers like Massiv, Harris, Eko Fresh, Xatar, La Honda, Manuellsen and actors like my only role-model Ralf Richter, Claude-Oliver Rudolph or Marc Keller.

Took me some days to get them on the net… Enzyme Incubation was nice though. Still: all the other gabber events ive been to at Turbinenhalle Oberhausen were better. Why? Hm, it wasnt the DJs (Dione, Buzz Fuzz, Ruffneck, Marc Acardipane, Nosferatu, Mad Dog,…).

It was the first Enzyme event in Germany, so maybe the lack of popularity caused the half-empty halls. I dont care that much about deco and stuff, some more people would have done it. Everything else was nice as usual.
Okay wait I got one more thing… Why the fuck is it a problem to hang out some sheets with the running order? plus: most of time the zero tolerance politics they brief the bouncers with works fine. Not in regards of keeping drugs out.. but in terms of retarded nazis who aim to perform their square dance to hardcore music. At Enzyme there was more than one Thor Stainer and combat boots loving shitbag. Not that they would really carry weight but… I heard that Thor Stainar was bought by an arabian, funny shit, huh?

i spend germanys coldest january since the last time we tried to grab moscow in cabo verde. funky islands next to the west african coast, that is (like, here). since europeans dont make a difference talkin bout africa (we used to wright “here are lions” on 80 percent of the map) i thaught blogging a story about adam tensta in senegal would be fittin.

found it on felicia‘s where david husselhoff‘s blog was linked. seemingly tensta is well known to some in senegal, story is they accidentaly bumped into some tensta fans in dakar. i dont think i’ll find people who know about schakkerhart (or adam tensta…) in tarrafal, theyre more into zouk, batida, kizomba, funana and stuff. but we’ll work on that… for now: check the adam tensta remake of Lykke Li‘s Little Bit. and the story, if you like.

i need to do some paid writing now. electricity just went of and i dont know how long my laptop will last….

The World is Small; Adam Tensta is Big!

One night in Senegal, while on Adam Tensta’s recent Africa tour, something peculiar happened. It was our first visit ever in Dakar and Adam’s music had never before been played on Senegalese radio, TV or club.

When I slip out of the hotel to pick up a Macchiato from a nearby coffee shop, I see something I didn’t really expect here. On a street corner, there are a bunch of teenage dudes, who really stick out from the rest of the people I’ve met on this continent so far. One of the dudes is rockin‘ a badass Mohawk, a Tiffany-colored T-shirt, a pair of Alife shoes and Ray Ban glasses. He looks like a mini-version of Adam Tensta. I decide to go back to the hotel room and get a copy of Adam’s album. Who knows, the dude might be into hip-hop?

On my way back out, I drag Keione along and trailing behind us is Eboi. I walk up to the dudes and ask them if they listen to hip-hop. They look at me like I’m some weirdo and say:

“Of course we do!”

I hand them It’s A Tensta Thing album and the whole crew burst out:

“Adam Tensta! That’s one of my favorites, man – Thanks!”

A second later, when Eboi walks out of the hotel lobby and I introduce him to the dudes, commotion breaks out. Hollering. Jumping. Hugging. I run back inside and jerk a sleeping Adam out of bed, bringing him outside just to turn the commotion into a complete uproar.

It turns out that these guys have every single tune of Adam Tensta’s on their cell phones, old mixtape songs with Eboi and pictures and videos they have found via Google in their phones. They put Adam on their cellies to say hi to their siblings in Paris and after three hours of hanging out, the sun goes down and we finally get the chance to catch up on some well-needed sleep.

This was an outlandish and landmark experience for me in my work with Adam Tensta. I will always remember this by-chance encounter with these dudes. You guys proved to me that there is no limit as to how far we can take Adam Tensta’s music! This song is dedicated to you.

listening to an oooold gabber sampler (resident e volume 3) and rewinding my brain to somewhere in 2008… i just remebered i never posted my syndicate pics. hmmm. my bad.

instead of takin pics i was partyin with schmidt and holländer. since we only had two ticks for the backstage area, holländer came with me and used the chance to get drunk with every fucking dj who ever made his mind playin tricks on him when he was young. bunch of legends running around there.

the party was one of the years highlights, 12.000 people in the westfalenhallen. you can check the line up here . i spent 90 percent of the night in the hardcore area, dont ask me how good the other stuff was, it just didnt interest me. guess youll find the dj sets somewhere on the net, its worth the search. மாதங்கி ‘மாயா’ அருள்பிரகாசம், better known by her stage name M.I.A., launched her own clothing line. Her brand is called Extended Merch, designed by Miss M.I.A. herself and Okley Leslie and delivers shirts, bodysuits, hoodies and leggings to your girlfriend. The designs are inspired by M.I.A.s album covers. It’s supposed to be buy-able here, but i didnt find it.. just found it, you gotta look for Okley by MIA.

Did she do a good job? Fuck do i know?? ask my girlfriend (she says it looks like vibskov and says you can get leggins like that @ apparel). i’d say first pic looks dumb, second one is nice, really looks mia.

i never really understood booba, how people see him, his position and why hes seemingly on top in french rap for such a long time. one thangs obvious: his music is fuckin dope. allways loved it. still he sounded like the hardest mutherfucker out there, seems to talk the talk, and then you hear about him being born rich and known to be not that gutter. not that that wouldnt happen with every famous rapper, but i seemed widely accepted, in a rap scene that seems to be the most authentic. perhaps they just sound authentic, i hardly understand the lyrics so understanding the scene is even harder.





another thing: since i’ve allways seen booba as the blueprint for bushido, and with him the whole german streetrap culture, i allways thaught booba had to be representin french street style to the fullest. wearin their clothes, speakin their slang. in a rap scene that seems to be the most authentic… then you see booba promoting his grillz^^ saw that in paris, didnt make sense to me.

on another note: today sefyu is even doper to me than booba , still when i met him, he and his boys were real kool but not half as hard and gudda as they seemed on stage and record. perhaps its the same in every country, it just sounds different. most important, sefyu got wise things to say (somebody translated…) but ey, i dont understand frenchs rap scene, somebody explain it.

so, using my new take on french rap its not too surprising to have mister french gangster rap use techno sounds and auto tune these days.

okay let me give you a quik report and some the streets news. mike skinner is in germany at the moment, touring. i planned to meet him and do a videointerview in duisburg, till my grannie decided to throw a birthday bash that day…luckily i could convince raveline magazine of the benefits of a mike skinner interview and traveled to his frankfurt show. not really economical, that trip, i’ll earn 20 E less than the train’s cost me.

guess you see the irony of it all – you might say “has it come too this? dont mug yourself pal, turn the page, its too late to act like a fan”, but we all got out runnins, lets stay positive: geezers need excitement, not the same old things, weak wont become heroes by drinking too much brandy, throw some sharp darts on that dailyroutine, lets push things forward, who dares wins! now who got the funk?^^

anyways, after 3 hours on the train i waited for the interview watchin football at a betting office. at 0:1 it was about time. the tour manager was a mean mugging skinhead, farting while he talked business. mike was kool, we talked about grime, dubstep, american rap and the techno rap revolution i talk about all day since schakkerhart started. we was pretty much on the same page, if this electro experimenting bullshit is supposed to lead somewhere, you guys better give it some substance or at least creativity.
mikes next album (the last the streets album) is supposed to sound more electronic than everything he did before, so he may be part of 2009s rap on techno movement. he gave props to Rinse and Peter Fox and declared dubstep his favourite for 2008.

after the chat i went back to see dortmund end the game 1:1 and wrote my article at a döner spot while waitin for the concert. -which featured a joke-cracking mike skinner plus live orchestra, his usual “sit down and get up again” games and an audience that was like some (SOME!) of his joints: smooth, intelligent, but too pop-y.

i was standing at the small train station in oberhausen, blowing smoke in the dark night, hearing stories about being on parole from by-standing jerks. when micha and kai arrived it was easy to find the way to megarave. gabbers is wearin uniforms in ruhrpott , we just had to join the army. micha was still psyched by having a new born son with a girl he harldy knows.

we didnt even try to get into the backstage area at turbinenhallen and kept dancing and drinkin instead. the scenery didnt look different than the ones at all the other gabber partys in that place. like a dark station concourse, packed with loaded skinheads, with three or four hardcore areas attached. getting drunk was heard because they sold miniature wodkas for big ass prices. nobody was there to drink anyways.

the djs was rockin, the darkraver did his thing, we talked after his set and i left him a schakkerhart promo cd with the tracks you find on the left. with their traditional live show, consisting of to blade-like MCs and two big titted strippers, rotterdam terror corps were the main act. a moshpit was starting in front of us, highlighted by a suit-wearing bouncer who was obviously overcharged by the situation. he tried so hard to look mean that his face turned to a disgusting caricature. nervously tryin to stare down everybody at the same time, somebody bounced into him, so he tried to end the riot of hald naked hools kickin each other across the dancefloor. i stepped on something, looking down i found michas hand under my air max.

last night i dreamed i was visitin my parents – my father tells me i missed the return match between borussia dortmund and udinese. i start hatin myself and ask for the result. my dad tells me we made the two goals to equalize in total, when udinese suddenly scored another one to kick us out in the last minutes. tears startet runnin down my cheeks.

okay we’ll see tomorrow what reality holds. i’ll give you some pics of my last trip to the stadium (victory in dfb pokal against hertha bsc berlin) to keep the faith.

I got up at 11, started workin a lil and ended up having a Wicküler and the last asshole by nature album for breakfast on the train at 4pm. perfect combination to kill some time.

since i got real sleepy by trae and z-i treat my clothes better than i treat my hoes-ros screw music, i used rotterdam terror corps to get me awake at dortmund hauptbahnhof.

the rest of the day, food-wise, went something like this: beer, Schnitzelbrötchen with beer, Bratwurst, beer, beer, Bratwurst, Beer, Beer, Beer, McDonalds, Glass of water, goodnight. Repeat that, add some cigarrettes and the whack pics might really give you the right impression.
hm, at least i managed to find some guys from my hometown and snap the banner.
