dumb headline? yap but takin a sentence from the press kid saved me some needed time. anyways, i’ll be on that cryptonite 2night at syndicate 2008 in Westfalenhalle Dortmund . right next to our beloved stadium and with an “harder styles” allstar line up. hope i’ll meet some interesting people next to dancin my air max dull. they calculate with something like 10.000 people, so i guess chances arent bad.

Evil Activities will be there too (2am), next to that i’m happy bout the chance to check some hardtechno out. of course neophyte and tommyknocker will be nice, but since i’m the hiphopper here doing his techno safari, i’m allways out for the stuff i didnt see before.

another day in the live of a hiphop kid goin techno.. after goin to a crunk party in düsseldorf on friday i spent the saturday in weeze, near the netherland-ish border. no free vodka for me this time BUT since i seemingly got a new job a raveline magazine (yeah!) i got two free tickets. arrivin a weeze airport (= q-base location) that guestlist placement turned out to be a worthy present by my new business partners: the ticks was freakin 50 bucks. i smashed my plans of gettin me something to eat (at one of the 40 food stalls) and saved the money to get drunk regardless of prices.

we got us the third ticket we needed and entered a fuckin huge techno funfair. 11 areas, placed in hangars, bunkers etc., with an army of diverse hardstyle, -core, -whatever djs. some stuff was faster, sometimes it got industrial but at first everything sounded hardcore. i got to get my electronic music classification game together, for a start i’m down with kai’s definition: if its rockin, it’s hardcore, if it gets too fast to dance to, it’s speed(core). hehe. .

after two hours we more or less found all the bunkers in weezes woods and i realised that not every hard style is hard enough to have fun with. perhaps we have to re-work kai’s classification method and get a lil nerrrdy-er. you know, its like beer or coffee, once you passed the point where bitter gets sweet, you dont want nuthin softer.

the hardstyle area had nice lamps on the wall and stuff, but somebody should tell those djs that it sucks to get into magic-woods-mode everytime people start to get it on. i guess hardstyle people need the dj to give them excuses for not dancin longer than 30 seconds.

my personal highlight hit the woods between six and seven o’clock, just after we got us a plan identifying the guys behind the wheels. tommyknocker was workin the open air strip with classics and some new stuff, from evil activities for example. area 4 (hardcore) turned out to be my favorite if it didnt get to weird/industrial whatever. nosferatu worked that one till seven o’clock and i should have had music like that for the whole evening. fuckin nice.

like i said this was a fuckin funfair in the magic woods rather than a hardcore party like in ruhrpott where the gabbers wear uniforms like npd-partisans. i guess i prefer the gabber hooligans i know from-back then but there was some funny peeps around.

though we were in germany, everybody who wanted to buy stuff from me approached me in dutch. it was fuckin holidays in the netherlands, even the cops were dutch.
next weekend, its megarave in oberhausen. we’ll see..
