Dizzee Rascal‘s Tongue N’ Cheek will be droppin on September 21th, Holiday just started ruinin rulin airwaves. I talked to him at Splash festival to record an interview for Hiphop.de.

I know artists dont like genres nowadays because everybody is so much of an individual he surely cant be compared to anyone else doing music. And I know Dizzee doesnt like being asked about grime. But another thing I do know is it still interests me. So we talked about grime, collaborating with Armand Van Helden (he asked Dizzee so he did it..), UKs electronic music scene and whatnot.

Heard Dizzee doesnt like interviews neither what makes it kinda hard talkin to him in front of a camera, but it still worked out fine. I did like 20 interviews with a bad hang over but it was a dope weekend. So if you ready for some heavy german accent clashing cockney, here we go.

Why cant I turn on the computer without reading about Calvin Harris anymore? May be because he’s got a subscription on high chart entries. Just like Dizzee Rascal has. After Calvin Harris did “Dance Wiv Me” for Dizzee Rascal, he hooked him up with the next straight to number one single. “Holiday”. Dizzee went to the UK top from zero for the third time in a row with this one (listen below).

I liked Bonkers better. Its a thin line between pop and pop. Would this be the time for another “why didnt urban dance get brought to the charts by new cats before the mainstream exploits it” rant? Probably. Holidays suck, schakker hart (thats “work hard” for you 1st world citizens).

Still, Dizzee comes to Germany and I might wanna check him out again. So let me note the tour dates.

In related news, the attempted murder of the vocal effect called “Auto Tune” failed miserably. Sean “Jay-Z” Carter, you loose. Although I would say Jay-Zs “back to the basics, fuck rappers who put melodys in their raps and everything the South brought to the game” is a classic case of “aus der Not eine Tugend machen” (somebody translate that), it was a nice try. So sad it failed.

British singer/ band (this is like a Mike Skinner/ The Streets type of confusing thing) Mr Hudson has his album Straight No Chaser co-produced by Kanye West. Auto Tune in the first single wasnt surprising since Mr “biggest star in the universe” West needs his walking frame for his ambitions as a Hipster-ish pop singer. Mr. Hudson wouldnt and being Kanye’s protege aint doing bad neither. The album appears on Kanyes G.O.O.D. Music and 1st single Supernova topped the charts right ahead.

DOA, huh? Jiggas personal Bay of Pigs aside, talk of the town Calvin Harris made Mr.Hudsons well produced electronic alternative RnB 80ies pop bounceable. The synths make you throw up your hands like its Sensation White again. Or some big ass commercial house event.

Straight No Chaser is out in october.

Ah yeah: the joke about all of this is that Mr.Hudsons song tops Dizzee’s. Mainly due to the fact that Calvin’s remix for Hudson is better than the beat he gave Dizzee’s single. Still strange. Once you start doing pop your battle skills won’t get you far, Mcee.

Skeptas “Sunglasses” Video is finally out. The track is still electro-ish and a dope party tune, despite the whack nursery hookrhyme.

Guess what, every single one had autotune in it. the sugary candy sweet rnb fotzen bullshit version of it. ugggly. like, check Lil Waynes feature on his “yellow girl”‘s song, which wouldnt even be that bad if it was limited to his part on a harder bass kick. It’s not such a pain in the ass as his “Prom Queen” rock bullshit, at least.

Than, Gang Gang Dance and Tinchy Styder? who wants to know? okay, three douchbages could produce greater garbage. Not exactlyhard and bangin but some good music, perhaps.Bonus points for being the only track without goddamn autotune bullshit. Don’t wanna hear about anything with the words “auto” and “tune” in it, unless you talkin ATU.

Jim Jones and Juelz Santana hopped on another corny faggot tune but then, the auto tune bullshit by Lil Jon caught my attention. It’s his first official Baltimore effort. Sidekickin it for DJ Class and straight bullshit before both shit talkers finally shut the fuck up at the end. but still: his first bmore tune.

Pitbull‘s newest one isn’t that bad, apart from the basic idea of recycling the Bloodhound Gang Line. Pitbull and Lil Jon are fire fighting along the equaly unsigned Machel Montano and give their sound a carribean soca twist for this one. Definitely the best track of the post. Boah is dat geil ey.

its always funny that dizzee talks as crazy as he raps^^ other than that, he just commented on barack obama being voted. bottom line: thats because he embraced hiphop. im not sure if obama really did that (embrace hiphop), i guess he treated the support from rappers like his skin colour: it will be there anyhow, so ignore it before it gets too much fo the john does. he’s “young”, black and funkycool, famous support is just naturally comming along with that. dizzee seems a little nervous, still he gots the punches on his side: “do you believe in britain partys? – yea, i do. they existin…”

i just watched their interview with Skepta , and it was fucking good. He explains what Grime is to him (rapping about everything you hear), how important freestylin is (very), how drum n base, jungle and grime fit in a row,……. nice one. the half of it is grime 101, but since i just reached the second grade myself, half of it was new to me. best internview for ..dunno, long time.

they also got Questlove and one with Mehdi and DJ A-Trak that i’m lookin right now. it began like three nerds just started hosting Waynes World, but since we got 30 minutes left, i guess it’ll get informative.
