you know that a trend is on (dead allready?) when people stick to it who are known for the complete opposite. been some time now since i first heard Massiv would “try something new” on his 2nd major album. i knew it was electro but my first reaction was that this would completely destroy his career. he appeared with a big as hype, gettin his islamist gangster on. album went wood though. what happened? rap stars just cant be made overnight, in Germany you need to build up artists with 3-5 albums. even more important, you shouldnt document your image building campaign in public – what they did, destroying the myth with “tight overshoulder” looks for gay photographers. so, now he’s coming back with dance tracks. now that idea is so dumb it might as well work.
